PREVIEW Thursday 30 November (3pm-8pm)

London Art Week is delighted to announce a dazzling program of exhibitions and expert talks, for the inaugural winter event in December.

"We are so lucky to have some of the UK´s leading museums as our partners", said London Art Week CEO, Philippa Gimlette. "In addition to the superb exhibitions in the galleries across Mayfair & St James's, visitors to London Art Week Winter will be able to hear curators from the Ashmolean, the Fitzwilliam and our other museum partners, talk in depth about their current exhibitions."

More exhibitions are being finalised daily, but highlights to date include Lotte Lasersteins Women at Agnews, and a fascinating show titled Dizygotica curated by Sophie Hicks at Rupert Wace Ancient Art. The Tomasso Brothers Gallery will show important sculpture by Joseph Gott and William Etty, and it will be possible to find something relatively affordable from both 100 Drawings and Watercolours at Stephen Ongpin and Peter Finer’s Christmas Exhibition. At Callisto Fine Arts there are busts carved in cannel coal of Mary Queen of Scots and Henry VIII. Stunning Iznik pottery in seemingly everlasting colours and hailing from the famous collection of Sir Alan Barlow will be at Forge & Lynch in Bury Street, and at Robilant + Voena, Splendour and Magnificence: Art from the European Courts promises many treasures.

"This December our member galleries will be making a special effort to convey the drama and passion of collecting, in over twenty exquisite exhibitions of pre-contemporary art which covers seven millennia", said Gimlette. Visitors who know the LAW summer event will not be disappointed by the masterworks on offer - it promises to be exceptional.
