Since opening his business some thirty years ago William Thuillier has built up formidable expertise in Master Paintings from the 16th to the 20th century. After a career at Sotheby's and several years as the director of the Alexander Gallery in Duke Street, he now deals from his gallery in Pimlico. His expertise has enabled him to make many discoveries in this field, several of which have found their way to museums such as the National Maritime Museum, the National Portrait Gallery and Tate Britain. He has recently sold a German Expressionist work by Schmidt-Rottluff to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Over the years he has participated in some of the major global art fairs in Tokyo, the Armoury Fair, New York, and Masterpiece, London.
