Thomas Coulborn & Sons has a unique reputation for producing eclectic collections of exceptional furniture and works of art, regularly winning plaudits for discoveries presented at international antiques fairs. The stock is centred by superb examples of English and European Furniture and Works of Art ranging from the Tudor period through to Regency.
Jonathan Coulborn represents the third generation of the family to deal in antiques from Vesey Manor; a 16th Century sandstone house formerly owned by the Bishop of Exeter in reign of Henry XVIII. Jonathan has a particular interest in objects which reflect the historic intersection of cultures and design, as a result Chinese Export furniture and art works, Anglo-Indian and Spanish Colonial items complement the carefully selected collection.
Thomas Coulborn & Sons exhibits annually at TEFAF Maastricht and counts multiple international museums amongst its valued clientele. In recent years sales have been made to The V&A, Temple Newsam, The British Museum, The Fitzwilliam Museum, The Metropolitan Museum, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the de Young Museum of San Francisco, The Art Institute of Chicago and others.
