Exhibition title: Classic Week

Exhibitor Overview

Christie's is a name and place that speaks of extraordinary art, unparalleled service and expertise, as well as international glamour. Founded in 1766 by James Christie, Christie's has since conducted the greatest and most celebrated auctions through the centuries providing a popular showcase for the unique and the beautiful.

Old Master paintings have been at the core of our auctions since James Christie's first sale. More than 250 years later we are still offering works by some of the greatest names in Western art history, from Renaissance masters such as Botticelli and Raphael through to Rembrandt and Rubens.

Old Master paintings continue to command some of the highest prices on today's art market. As the market leader in this category, Christie's is committed to sourcing and selling the finest works of art with exceptional provenance to both private collectors and institutions. In 2017, Christie's made art market history, selling Leonardo da Vinci's Salvator Mundi for $450 million, more than double the previous record for any work of art sold at auction.
